Tarot and sort of intro

I don't know who in this group reads the cards (tarot), but I do. I was searching communities with interest in tarot and came up with this one. I was doing this because I belong and moderate another community on lj that offers free tarot readings. Tarot_guild. I was really trying to broaden our membership base and get listed on some other community links sections, but I saw this community and the profile seems right up my alley. I am not christian, but at the same time I am not really certain how to label myself. I usually go with spiritual with pagan leanings. So here I am and I look forward to seeing how other people follow their own path.

If you are interested in my community please check it out. We are pretty cool about things and always good if you need guidance no matter what creed you prescribe to.

As to this community, What are your feelings on the cards and how many of you read them as well?

Thanks for the welcome. My fiancee reads runes, not very well as he doesn't do so often enough to remember them without looking everything up, but from time to time he uses them. I find them fascinating and wonder about making my own set as the sets that I have seen don't generally appeal to me. So I have let them be.

I've been reading tarot for more than twenty years now. I don't read the cards often, but when I do they definitely give insight.

Personally, the art and symbolism of the cards are a natural match for my storytelling instincts, and after all this time it's become easy to see the connections, resonances, and contrasts between certain cards, especially with the pattern position taken into account.

My favorite deck is the Robin Wood, but I also sometimes use the Osho Zen Tarot.

I've been reading for about five years now.

The DruidCraft Tarot is my favorite personal reading deck.

I didn't list it, but the deck I normally use is the Shapeshifter Deck. I love the artwork and the vibrant colors, but really the cards aren't about the artwork for me. I am most definitely more about the tradition behind the cards with the means that have been passed down and interpreted with artwork. Right now I am very slowly working on making my own deck so that it is a lot more personal. My card backs are finished, I also have the Fool finished, and I have my death card drawn, but not finished as well as the idea for my Magician. I don't know if I am doing a whole picture for the suites or just pip cards, but I am having fun with it all. That is actually what got me started looking for communities with this interest.
